One of the most ubiquitous chants at trump campaign events during the 2016 Presidential campaigns was the incessant drum-beat of “Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!”
trump could be seen pumping his fist in the air at many of his events, encouraging them to continue the chant. At other events, he would start the chant himself.
It was a mainstay at his campaign stops, just like his Wall rhetoric. It was one of his greatest stump hits.
The chant was a reference to Hillary Clinton and the allegations that she committed serious crimes for using a private email server and/or account (depending on the day, the knowledge level of the person chanting the refrain, or the whim of donald trump at the time) while in the employ of the federal government in a sensitive position.
Guess what we learned today?
Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon will be using private email accounts while serving in the White House.
When can we expect trump supporters to start chanting, “Lock them up!”?
