After the passage of president trump’s anti-Muslim ban, a 5-year-old Iranian boy was detained at Washington’s Dulles International Airport after having the gall to be 40,000 feet in the air over the Atlantic Ocean when the president decided Muslims were bad.

president trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, decided to tell us that detaining kindergarteners is going to keep America safe, because 5-year-olds might be radicalized terrorists.

 

While I was sleeping, here are some other snippets I neglected to share with you:

  • Kellyanne Conway described president trump’s first week as “truly […] breathtaking”.
  • donald trump named Steven Bannon to his National Security Council. In case the significance of this is lost on you, allow me to elaborate slightly. Steve Bannon is the white nationalist former chairman of Breitbart News, a website that is a magnet for white nationalists, white supremacists, neo nazis, aryan nationalists, klansmen, and other various, race- and gender-based misanthropes.
  • The interim Attorney General, Sally Yates announced that the Justice Department will not enforce trump’s Muslim ban as long as she is in charge of the Justice Department. Expect this bit of good news to be incredibly short-lived.
  • president trump reached a disapproval rating higher than his approval rating faster than any other president in U.S. history.

News broke around 9:45 p.m. EST that Sally Yates has been fired as interim Attorney General for her refusal to enforce the Muslim ban.
