For the past 16 years or so, every time we get a new president, China tests them. With George W. Bush, it was by flying one of their fighters too close to one of our Navy aircraft, causing a collision, killing the Chinese pilot, and forcing the U.S. Navy to make an emergency landing in China in what has become known as the Hainan Island incident.

The Navy personnel were captured by Chinese officials and held for 10 days until U.S. officials gave in to Chinese demands and apologized for colliding with the Chinese fighter jet (though officials later adamantly denied they ever apologized, and insisted that the Chinese translation of the U.S. diplomatic letter was in error).

Then, in 2009, after Barrack Obama took office, the Chinese again toyed with American interests by taunting a U.S. Navy research vessel in international waters.

That same research vessel was involved in yet another incident just a few days ago when Chinese naval personnel hopped in a small boat and chased down the USNS Bowditch, which the Chinese navy had been shadowing. When they neared the Bowditch, Chinese personnel snatched a research drone out of the water belonging to the United States.

In response to the incident, president-elect trump took to twitter (again) and blasted out this criticism [emphasis mine]:

China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters – rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented act.

A short time later, someone corrected our president-elect, and the tweet was corrected.

Meanwhile, in news that doesn’t matter…

Our long national nightmare finally ended today when Kim Kardashian posted a brief video of someone’s ass shaking (speculation that it is the Kardashian ass is driving the Internet insane) on Ms. West’s Instagram. She has been desperately absent from social media for months, and people are dying for her to be famous for being famous again. At long last, it looks like we can breath easy.
